FRUITA COMMUNITY CENTER ART EXHIBIT – Artists Call - The City of Fruita, through its Arts & Culture Board, is looking for artists to submit for exhibit at the Fruita Community Center facility. The exhibit is to be placed in the Fruita Community Center in three (3) month increments. The artist must consider the space desired in drafting the proposal. Submissions must be turned in by Monday, February 6 2012. Selections will be made at the Wednesday, February 8 2012 Arts and Culture Board Meeting. Artist must be able to hang art work on March 1, 2012 and leave hanging until the end of May 2012. Preference is to have Artist available for a ‘Meet the Artist’ event on the evening of March 14 at 6:00 pm (after the Arts and Culture Board Meeting).
The goal of exhibits and art displays in the Community Center facility is to provide an entertaining and informative place to gather, interact and be an active and healthy community.
Artists are asked to submit proposals to the City of Fruita Parks and Recreation Department, 324 N Coulson, Fruita, no later than 4:00 pm on Monday, February 6 2012. Proposals will be evaluated by the Fruita Arts & Culture Board. For further information, please visit www.fruita.org

FRUITA FORMING COMMUNITY CENTER TILE COMMITTEE, Fruita, CO - The City of Fruita Arts & Culture Commission is seeking interested residents to explore and oversee a tile project for the new community center. The committee will recommend a design, theme and palette and will determine the cost of the project, timeline and the best method for installation to present to the Commission. The committee will also direct fundraising efforts for the project. The tiles will be painted by community members and then placed in designated areas both on the exterior of the building as well as the interior. The committee will be responsible for the entire scope of the project. The Fruita Community Center is scheduled to open its doors in January 2011. The tile project is expected to be completed after the opening as determined by the timeline established by the committee. FRUITA CIVIC CENTER: Through the Parks and Recreation Department, local artists can display their artwork in the lobby of the Civic Center. Artists are encouraged to contact the Fruita Parks and Recreation Department to schedule a month they would like to display.
